Bosch Washing Machine repairs Help
Page
Bosch domestic appliances are among the most reliable
and durable white goods available. Their range of washing machines both free standing and built in are
reliable, long lasting and easy to repair. Most free standing washing machines model numbers are displayed on
the inside of the door.
The model number is prefixed by the letters E-Nr
then model number that usably starts with three
letters e.g. W?? and the four
or five numbers e.g. WFL2260. On later
models, the fist two number denote the spin
speed e.g. WAE24061 is 1200 spin WAA 28161
is1400 spin. Below are some engineers reports on the most common faults on Bosch washing machines
.
Washing
Machines
Engineers report:- lt348 Attend Bosch WFB2405
Fault customer reports water leaking down front of
machine. Open door inspect door seal. Small tear on front lip were it seals on door glass (Usually caused by trapping article in door and operating appliance)
Disconnect appliance from power supply Perform earth leakage/low
insulation test. Ok
Action taken: Remove soap draw, unclip door seal retaining wire, release
door interlock from front panel, remove lower kick plate, remove front panel. Remove door seal and replace
with new one. Replace front panel
Re-fit interlock and front retaining wire, soap
draw and kick plate. Put on rinse and spin Ok

Engineers report:- lt643 Attend Bosch WAE24168
Fault, customer reports all spin lights
(LED) flashing and machine will not
programme
Action taken: Follow PCB board Re-set procedure.
If board Re-sets ok Disconnect appliance from power supply Perform earth leakage/low insulation test. Test OK
Remove back and (base plate if necessary) Remove motor and circuit test. No continuity through
carbons to commentator detected. Megger test motor, test ok. Replace carbon brushes. Re-fit motor. Level
appliance and water, wash and spin test OK. . Re-position appliance.

Engineers report:- lt662 Attend Bosch WAA28168
Fault: customer reports door will not open.
Check whether door handle is unduly loose and feel
whether it connects with door pecker. Handle unduly loose pos broken inside. Action taken:- Disconnect
appliance from power supply Perform earth
leakage/low insulation test. (megger test) Put
machine in drain to test if machine blocked as blocked pump would result in door not opening and could have
caused primary fault, machine drains ok put machine in off position, wait 2 minutes for door lock to release
pull machine out disconnect from power supply, remove lid. Push drum backwards to facilitate reaching in to
release door pecker from interlock and open door Remove door , lay door in flat surface. Split door frame
and replace broken handle parts necessary. Re-fit door water. Wash and spin test. Door locking test, Re-fit top and position
appliance.

Engineers report:- lt145 Attend Bosch WAE24363.
Fault, customer reports F21 on display. (no circuit through motor fault)
Action taken: Follow PCB board Re-set procedure.
If board Re-sets ok Disconnect appliance from power supply, perform earth leakage/low insulation test. Test OK Pull
appliance out from under work top. Remove back and (base plate if
necessary) Remove motor and circuit
test. No continuity through carbons to commentator detected. Megger test motor, test ok. Replace carbon
brushes. Re-fit motor. , wash and spin test OK. . Re-position appliance.

Engineers report:- lt5667Attend Bosch WFD2061.
Fault, customer reports that appliance wont spin. Pull appliance out from under work top.
Unplug and Perform earth leakage/low insulation test. Test OK. Enquire of customer age of
appliance. Over 10
years if any repair done on appliance in last 2-3 years. Enquire if
appliance has been leaking and whether unduly noisy to establish financial feasibility of repair. Appliance not leaking and not noisy. Run appliance thought water test
and spin test. Machine fails to emptying. Check machine has drain filter behind plastic door at base of
appliance.
Action taken:- Lean appliance back through 45.
place suitable size bowl under pump. With large
towel under bowl Carefully remove filter cap allowing water to drain into bowl some spillage occurs. Remove
obstacles from filter
Check for obstacles in pump impellor chamber.
Remove obstacle from chamber with long nose pliers, re-fit filter cap, level appliance and water test
appliance. Appliance NOW draining and spinning
OK. Re-position appliance under work top.
Spares used:- None
Engineers report:- lt887 Attended Bosch WFL2260.
Fault, customer says appliance is noisy.
Action:- Pull appliance out from under work top. Unplug and Perform
earth leakage/low insulation test. (megger test) Test OK.
Plug in appliance select spin and listen for
irregular noise, None detected. Check that appliance is level and all legs are in contact with
ground
Check stainless steel inner drum for
excess movement on bearings or bearing support
shaft. No excess movement. Remove lid, check drum support springs, lean appliance backwards through 45. and
check suspension legs for undue wear. None
detected. Check filter for coins etc.
Coins and buttons found. remove. Level appliance again Put machine on last rinse and test
for coin intermittent contact with pump
impellor. NOISE DETECTED.
Action taken. allow machine to drain. Lean machine
backwards through 45 and place washing up bowl under pump. Remove pump, and remove obstacle from impeller chamber. Re-assemble and
